Cisco Unified Communication Manager Automation Policies PowerPack Release Notes, version 101

Version 101 of the "Cisco Unified Communication Manager Automation Policies" PowerPack adds the "Enrichment: Cisco-UCM" run book actions that were in the now-deprecated "Datacenter Advanced Enrichment Actions" PowerPack to this PowerPack. In addition, all of the run book actions were updated to Python 3.6.

  • Minimum Required SL1 Version: 12.1.2

Before You Install

Ensure that you are running version 12.1.2 or later of SL1 before installing this PowerPack. For details on upgrading SL1, see the relevant SL1 Platform Release Notes.

You must also install version 202 or later of the "Datacenter Automation Utilities" PowerPack before installing this version of the PowerPack.

Upgrading from a Previous Version of This PowerPack

If you are upgrading from a previous version of this PowerPack, you will need to execute the following SQL query on your SL1 system to ensure that any run book actions on the SL1 system from the previous versions of this PowerPack can receive updates after upgrading to this release.

To upgrade from a previous release:

  1. In SL1, go to the Database Tool page (System > Tools > DB Tool).

  2. Execute the following query:

Installing the PowerPack

If you are currently using the Dynamic Applications in this PowerPack to monitor devices, collection errors might occur for one or two polling cycles during the installation of a new version. To prevent collection errors during an upgrade, you can optionally disable collection for monitored devices before performing the following steps and re-enable collection after the upgrade.

To install this PowerPack:

  1. Search for and download the PowerPack from the PowerPacks page (Product Downloads > PowerPacks & SyncPacks) at the ScienceLogic Support Site.
  2. In SL1, go to the PowerPacks page (System > Manage > PowerPacks).
  3. Click the Actions menu and choose Import PowerPack. The Import PowerPack modal appears.
  4. Click Browse and navigate to the PowerPack file from step 1.
  5. Select the PowerPack file and click Import. The PowerPack Installer modal displays a list of the PowerPack contents.
  6. Click Install. The PowerPack is added to the PowerPack Manager page.

Features

This PowerPack includes the following features:

  • 20 run book automation policies that you can configure to collect additional diagnostic information when events occur.
  • 34 event policies that you can use with the automation policies that are triggered when Cisco UCM devices meet certain status criteria.

Enhancements and Issues Addressed

This release includes the following enhancements and addressed issues:

  • Added the 20 "Enrichment: Cisco-UCM" run book actions that were in the now-deprecated "Datacenter Advanced Enrichment Actions" PowerPack to this PowerPack.
  • In addition, all of these run book actions were updated to Python 3.6.
