Version 101 of the "Dell EMC Unity Automation" PowerPack includes updates for compatibility with Python 3. As a result, this version of the PowerPack runs only in a Python 3 execution environment.

  • Minimum Required SL1 Version: 12.1.2

Before You Install

Ensure that you are running version 12.1.2 or later of Skylar One before installing this PowerPack.

For details on upgrading SL1, see the relevant SL1 Platform Release Notes.

The following PowerPacks are prerequisites:

  • "Datacenter Automation Utilities" version 202 or later
  • "Dell EMC Unity" PowerPack version 103 or later

Installing the PowerPack

If you are currently using the Dynamic Applications in this PowerPack to monitor devices, collection errors might occur for one or two polling cycles during the installation of a new version. To prevent collection errors during an upgrade, you can optionally disable collection for monitored devices before performing the following steps and re-enable collection after the upgrade.

To install this PowerPack:

  1. Search for and download the PowerPack from the PowerPacks page at the ScienceLogic Support Center (Skylar One > PowerPacks).
  2. In Skylar One (formerly SL1), go to the PowerPacks page (System > Manage > PowerPacks).
  3. Click the Actions menu and choose Import PowerPack. The Import PowerPack modal appears.
  4. Click Browse and navigate to the PowerPack file from step 1.
  5. Select the PowerPack file and click Import. The PowerPack Installer modal displays a list of the PowerPack contents.
  6. Click Install. The PowerPack is added to the PowerPack Manager page.

See the Dell EMC Unity Automations PowerPack manual for instructions on using the PowerPack.

Features

This release includes the following features:

  • Updated the PowerPack to the latest libraries. As a result, this version of the PowerPack runs only in a Python 3 execution environment.
  • Updated the run book actions in the PowerPack to Python 3.6. The run book automation policies were updated to the "Active Events/User Initiated" types. The "Datacenter Automation Utilities" PowerPack version 202 is now a prerequisite for this PowerPack, as the action types for the six run book actions come from that version.
