Windows PowerShell User-Initiated Automation PowerPack Release Notes, version 100

Version 100 of the Windows PowerShell User-Initiated Automation PowerPack is the initial version of the PowerPack.. This PowerPack adds automation policies that allow a user to manually run automation actions from the Windows PowerShell AutomationsPowerPack from the event console.

This PowerPack is intended to supplement the Windows PowerShell Automations PowerPack.

  • Minimum Required SL1 Version: 10.1.0

Before You Install

Ensure that you are running version 10.1.0 or later of SL1 before installing "Windows PowerShell User-Initiated Automation" PowerPack version 100.

IMPORTANT: To provide output formatting in HTML or plaintext, you must also install the Datacenter Automation Utilities PowerPack.

Installation Process

To install version 100 of the Windows PowerShell User-Initiated Automation PowerPack, perform the following steps:

  1. See the Before You Install section. If you have not done so already, upgrade your system to the 10.1.0 or later release.
  2. Familiarize yourself with the Known Issues for this release.
  3. Download the Windows PowerShell User-Initiated Automation version 100 PowerPack to a local computer.
  1. Go to the PowerPack Manager page (System > Manage > PowerPacks). Click the Actions menu and choose Import PowerPack. Import the Windows PowerShell User-Initiated Automationversion 100 PowerPack.   2. Click the Install button. For details on installing PowerPacks, see the chapter on Installing a PowerPack in the PowerPacks manual.
  3. See the Run Book Automation manual for instructions on using Action Type contained in the new PowerPack.
