Version 218 of the "Cisco Base Pack" PowerPack resolves several issues and introduces enhancements to Dynamic Application data collection and execution. It also includes updated policy descriptions on the Event Policies page for clearer and more consistent formatting throughout.

Before You Install or Upgrade
Ensure that you are running version 12.5.1 or later of Skylar One before installing the "Cisco Base Pack" PowerPack.

Installing or Upgrading the PowerPack
By default, installing a new version of a PowerPack will overwrite all content in that PowerPack that has already been installed on the target system. You can use the Enable Selective PowerPack Field Protection setting in the Behavior Settings page (System > Settings > Behavior) to prevent the new version of the PowerPack from overwriting local changes for some commonly customized fields.
If you are currently using the Dynamic Applications in this PowerPack to monitor devices, collection errors might occur for one or two polling cycles during the installation of a new version. To prevent collection errors during an upgrade, you can optionally disable collection for monitored devices before performing the following steps and re-enable collection after the upgrade.
To install this PowerPack:
- Search for and download the PowerPack from the PowerPacks page at the ScienceLogic Support Center (Skylar One > PowerPacks).
- In Skylar One (formerly SL1), go to the PowerPacks page (System > Manage > PowerPacks).
- Click the Actions menu and choose Import PowerPack. The Import PowerPack modal appears.
- Click and navigate to the PowerPack file from step 1.
- Select the PowerPack file and click . The PowerPack Installer modal displays a list of the PowerPack contents.
- Click . The PowerPack is added to the PowerPack Manager page.

Features
This release includes the following features:
- Dynamic Applications that collect CPU, environmental status, memory, and basic configuration data for Cisco devices
- Event Policies that are triggered when Cisco devices meet certain status criteria
- Device Classes for each type of Cisco device monitored
- Sample Credentials for discovering Cisco devices using SNMP
Enhancements and Issues Addressed
The following enhancements and addressed issues are included in this release:
- Resolved an issue in which the "Cisco: Physical Memory" Dynamic Application data collection occurred for only a single process on the Cisco 9300. The "Cisco: Physical Memory" Dynamic Application now collects data for multiple processors on the Cisco 9300 device. (Case: 00549821)
- Addressed an issue where the "Cisco: FRU Control Configuration" Dynamic Application was using the chassis ID as the model number, which caused incorrect asset information to display. (Case: 00529478)
- The "Cisco: VRF BGP Peers" Dynamic Application now collects both default and non-default VRF information. (Case: 00519522)
- All Dynamic Applications now run in Python 3 execution environments. (Case: 00465804)
- Resolved an issue where the "Device Software Version" Dynamic Application did not collect operating system information when manually aligned to network devices. (Case: 00460333)
- Added a new snmpEngineTime (1.3.6.1.6.3.10.2.1.3) OID to monitor system uptime in the System Uptime OID field on the Device Class Editor page (System > Customize > Device Classes) for all SNMP Enabled device classes.
- Added a new "Local AS" collection object to the "BGP Peers" Dynamic Application.
- Updated all policy descriptions in this PowerPack to include dedicated Description, Probable Cause, and Resolution sections when viewing an event policy from the Event Policy page (Events > Event Policies).
- Added a new "Cisco: AnyConnect" Dynamic Application to monitor devices that are using Cisco AnyConnect for encrypted access to a corporate network. This collection objects for this Dynamic Application are: "Active Sessions", "Discovery", and "Max Sessions".
When upgrading to version 218 of this PowerPack, any custom content in the policy description might be overwritten. Existing functionality remains unchanged.
Known Issues
The following known issues affects this version of the PowerPack:
- The "Cisco: Environmental Entity Status" Dynamic Application does not use any precise conversion for collected data values.
- The "Cisco: Environmental Entity Status" Dynamic Application does not align automatically when the PowerPack is upgraded from earlier versions of this PowerPack. Nightly discovery is needed to align it, but if you need to align the Dynamic Application immediately, re-run the discovery session.
