Dell EMC: Isilon PowerPack Release Notes, version 102

Version 102 of the Dell EMC: Isilon PowerPack includes a known issue in the PowerPack's change log.

  • Minimum Required SL1 Version: 8.2.0

Before You Install or Upgrade

Ensure that you are running version 8.2.0 or later of SL1 before installing "Dell EMC: IsilonPowerPack version 102.

Installation or Upgrade Process

To install version 102 of the Dell EMC: Isilon PowerPack, perform the following steps:

By default, installing a new version of a PowerPack will overwrite all content in that PowerPack that has already been installed on the target system. You can use the Enable Selective PowerPack Field Protection setting in the Behavior Settings page (System > Settings > Behavior) to prevent the new version of the PowerPack from overwriting local changes for some commonly customized fields.

To install this PowerPack:

  1. Familiarize yourself with the Known Issues for this release.
  2. See the Before You Install or Upgrade section. If you have not done so already, upgrade your system to the 8.2.0 or later release.
  3. Download the "Dell EMC: Isilon" version 102PowerPack from the Support Site to a local computer.
  4. Go to the PowerPack Manager page (System > Manage > PowerPacks). Click the Actions menu and choose Import PowerPack. When prompted, import "Dell EMC: Isilon" version 102.
  5. Click the Install button. For details on installing PowerPacks, see the chapter on Installing a PowerPack in the PowerPacks manual.

Features

This release includes the following features:

  • Dynamic Applications to discover, model, and monitor performance metrics and collect configuration data for Dell EMC Isilon devices
  • Device Classes for each type of Isilon device monitored
  • Event Policies that are triggered when Isilon devices meet certain status criteria
  • Example credentials that you can use as templates to create a SOAP/XML credential for connecting to Isilon devices and an SNMP credential for device class alignment

NOTE: For discovery, you must create an SNMP credential and a SOAP/XML credential and then select both for the discovery session.

Known Issues

The following known issues affect version 102 of the Dell EMC: Isilon PowerPack:

  • The change log on the PowerPack Properties page incorrectly states that the "Dell EMC: Isilon Event Monitoring" Dynamic Application was added to Version 102 of the Dell EMC: Isilon PowerPack. However, that Dynamic Application is actually planned for a future release.
