Dell EMC: VMAX and PowerMax Unisphere API PowerPack Release Notes, version 202

Version 202 of the Dell EMC: VMAX and PowerMax Unisphere API PowerPack addresses an issue in which the "Dell EMC: VMAX Unisphere Classify Root Device Class" Run Book Action was failing during discovery.

  • Minimum Required SL1 Version: 10.2.0
  • Minimum Required Version of Unisphere for VMAX: 9.2.0.1

Before You Install or Upgrade

Ensure that you are running version 10.2 or later of SL1 before installing "Dell EMC: VMAX and PowerMax Unisphere API" PowerPack version 202.

Installation or Upgrade Process

To install version 202 of the Dell EMC: VMAX and PowerMax Unisphere API PowerPack, perform the following steps:

CAUTION: You cannot upgrade to Version 202 of the Dell EMC: VMAX and PowerMax Unisphere API PowerPack from the Dell EMC: VMAXPowerPack. You must freshly install this version and run a new discovery session.

To install this PowerPack:

  1. Familiarize yourself with the Known Issues for this release.
  2. See the Before You Install or Upgrade section. If you have not done so already, upgrade your system to the 10.2 or later release.
  3. Download the "Dell EMC: VMAX and PowerMax Unisphere API" version 202PowerPack from the Support Site to a local computer.
  4. Go to the PowerPack Manager page (System > Manage > PowerPacks). Click the Actions menu and choose Import PowerPack. When prompted, import "Dell EMC: VMAX and PowerMax Unisphere API" version 202.
  5. Click the Install button. For details on installing PowerPacks, see the chapter on Installing a PowerPack in the PowerPacks manual.
