Dell EMC: VMAX and PowerMax Unisphere API PowerPack Release Notes, version 203

Version 203 of the "Dell EMC: VMAX and PowerMax Unisphere API" PowerPack updates the PowerPack for Guided Discovery and Python 3 compatibility.

  • Minimum Required SL1 Version: 12.1.0
  • Minimum Required Version of Unisphere for VMAX: 8.4

Before You Install or Upgrade

Ensure that you are running version 12.1 or later of SL1 before installing the "Dell EMC: VMAX and PowerMax Unisphere API" PowerPack.

Installation or Upgrade Process

To install version 203 of the "Dell EMC: VMAX and PowerMax Unisphere API" PowerPack, perform the following steps:

CAUTION: You cannot upgrade to Version 203 of the "Dell EMC: VMAX and PowerMax Unisphere API" PowerPack from the Dell EMC: VMAXPowerPack. You must freshly install this version and run a new discovery session.

To install this PowerPack:

  1. Familiarize yourself with the Known Issues for this release.
  2. See the Before You Install or Upgrade section. If you have not done so already, upgrade your system to the 12.1 or later release.
  3. Download the "Dell EMC: VMAX and PowerMax Unisphere API" version 203 PowerPack from the Support Site to a local computer.
  4. Go to the PowerPack Manager page (System > Manage > PowerPacks). Click the Actions menu and choose Import PowerPack. When prompted, import "Dell EMC: VMAX and PowerMax Unisphere API" version 203.
  5. Click the Install button. For details on installing PowerPacks, see the chapter on Installing a PowerPack in the PowerPacks manual.

The following enhancements and addressed issues are included in this release:

  • Updated the PowerPack for Python 3 compatibility.
