IBM: Tivoli Storage Manager PowerPack Release Notes, version 104

Version 104 of the "IBM: Tivoli Storage Manager" PowerPack addressed a run book automation reclassification issue.

Before You Install or Upgrade

Ensure that you are running version 12.1.2 or later of SL1 before installing the "IBM: Tivoli Storage Manager" PowerPack.

Installation or Upgrade Process

To install version 104 of the "IBM: Tivoli Storage Manager" PowerPack, perform the following steps:

To install this PowerPack:

  1. Familiarize yourself with the Known Issues for this release.
  2. See the Before You Install or Upgrade section. If you have not done so already, upgrade your system to the 12.1.2 or later release.
  3. Download the "IBM: Tivoli Storage Manager" version 104 PowerPack from the Support Site to a local computer.
  4. Go to the PowerPack Manager page (System > Manage > PowerPacks). Click the Actions menu and choose Import PowerPack. When prompted, import "IBM: Tivoli Storage Manager" version 104.
  5. Click the Install button. For details on installing PowerPacks, see the chapter on Installing a PowerPack in the PowerPacks manual.

  • Two example credentials you can use as templates to create a SOAP/XML Credential and an SSH/Key Credential to connect to Tivoli Storage Manager devices.
  • Dynamic Applications to monitor performance metrics and collect configuration data for Tivoli Storage Manager devices.
  • Device classes that can be aligned to Tivoli Storage Manager devices.
  • Event policies and corresponding alerts that are triggered when Tivoli Storage Manager devices meet certain status criteria.
  • A run book action and a run book automation policy that align the root device class.

Enhancements and Issues Addressed

The following enhancements and addressed issues are included in this release:

  • Addressed an issue that caused the "IBM: TSM Classify Root Device Class" run book automation to trigger an event repeatedly.
