Version 102 of the "Juniper: Mist" PowerPack adds multiple new Dynamic Applications and device classes, deprecates the "Mist: Alarms and Events" Dynamic Application, and allows for the discovery of devices that do not have a name.
Before You Install or Upgrade
Ensure that you are running version 12.2.0 or later of SL1 before installing the "Juniper: Mist" PowerPack.

Installation and Upgrade Process
If you are currently using the Dynamic Applications in this PowerPack to monitor devices, collection errors might occur for one or two polling cycles during the installation of a new version. To prevent collection errors during an upgrade, you can optionally disable collection for monitored devices before performing the following steps and re-enable collection after the upgrade.
To install this PowerPack:
- Search for and download the PowerPack from the PowerPacks page (Product Downloads > PowerPacks & SyncPacks) at the ScienceLogic Support Site.
- In SL1, go to the PowerPacks page (System > Manage > PowerPacks).
- Click the Actions menu and choose Import PowerPack. The Import PowerPack modal appears.
- Click PowerPack file from step 1. and navigate to the
- Select the PowerPack file and click . The PowerPack Installer modal displays a list of the PowerPack contents.

This release includes the following features:
- Dynamic Applications that discover and collect data from Juniper: Mist
- Device Classes for each type of Juniper: Mist component device SL1 monitors
- Event Policies and corresponding alerts that are triggered when Juniper: Mist devices meet certain status criteria
- A sample SOAP/XML Credential ("Juniper Mist Example") that you can use to create your own Juniper: Mist Credential
Enhancements and Issues Addressed
The following enhancements and addressed issues are included in this release:

Added two new collection objects for "Chassis Serial" and "Chassis MAC Address" to the "Mist: Switch Discovery" and "Mist: Switch Asset Configuration" Dynamic Applications.

Added the "Mist | Site Edge" device class to support the discovery of MXEdge devices.

Added the new "Mist: Site Edge Statistics" Dynamic Application to collect performance statistics for Mist Site Edge devices.

The Juniper Mist PowerPack will now discover devices that do not have a name. The MAC address of a device will be used if no name is found.

Added the new "silo_mist" ScienceLogic library to house common snippet code for paging and authentication.
Known Issues
The following known issues affect version 102 of the "Juniper: Mist" PowerPack:

Sometimes, Juniper Mist can return the serial value for a device as the MAC Address. The "Juniper Mist" PowerPack reports what the API responds with, and this is not a bug with the PowerPack.
