Importing ServiceNow Data into Skylar Advisor
If you use ServiceNow to track incidents, alerts, or cases, or if you want to sync your ServiceNow Knowledge Base (KB) articles, you can use the "Skylar Advisor" SyncPack to import that ServiceNow data into Skylar Advisor using Skylar Automation.
The "Skylar Advisor" SyncPack lets you retrieve the content of KB articles from ServiceNow and send those articles as PDF attachments for Skylar Advisor to ingest. You can also synchronize the following ServiceNow data types:
- Incidents
- Cases
- Alerts (Event Management)
- Change Requests
To enable these features, you need to create an access token in Skylar Settings. For more information, see Creating Access Tokens for Users.
When you have the Skylar Advisor access token, you need to add it to a configuration object in Skylar Automation along with the SyncPack. For more information, see the Skylar Advisor SyncPack manual.
Minimum Version Requirement
The "Skylar Advisor" SyncPack requires "ServiceNow Base" SyncPack 4.0.0 or later.
The SyncPack does not require a specific version of the ServiceNow release.
Supported Data Synchronization
If you use ServiceNow to track incidents, alerts, or cases, or if you want to sync your ServiceNow Knowledge Base (KB) articles, you can use the "Skylar Advisor" SyncPack to import that ServiceNow data into Skylar Advisor using Skylar Automation.

Knowledge Base Filtering
Skylar Advisor supports ServiceNow encoded query filters for knowledge base synchronization.
Synchronization Approach
- Initial historical load. Pulls all existing Knowledge Base articles for onboarding and backfill scenarios.
- Maintenance sync. Picks up records created or updated within the configured lookback period. This lightweight sync can run at a frequency you agree on with ScienceLogic.
Available Controls
Current controls are structural rather than content-based. You can scope which parts of the ServiceNow estate are ingested, but you cannot apply every filter within that scope.
| Filter or Control | Supported | Details |
|---|---|---|
|
Organization or business unit |
Yes |
Ingestion is partitioned by ServiceNow domain and company. Unmapped records default to a catch-all organization, so confirm organization mapping before onboarding. |
|
Domains or folders |
Yes |
Can be used to scope ingestion. |
|
Age |
Yes |
Can be used to limit content by age. |
