Skylar Compliance Automation PowerPack, version 200

Version 200 of the "Skylar Compliance Automation" PowerPack includes the use of the Restorepoint v2 API, which includes updated credential handling, run book action policies, and run book automation policies to work with the new API.

This PowerPack works in conjunction with the "Datacenter Advanced Enrichment Actions" PowerPack.

Before You Install or Upgrade

Ensure that you are running version 12.3.x or later of Skylar One before installing the "Skylar Compliance Automation" PowerPack.

You must install version 103 of the "Datacenter Automation Utilities" PowerPack before proceeding. You can access this PowerPack from the PowerPacks page on the ScienceLogic Support Site.

Installation and Upgrade Process

If you are currently using the Dynamic Applications in this PowerPack to monitor devices, collection errors might occur for one or two polling cycles during the installation of a new version. To prevent collection errors during an upgrade, you can optionally disable collection for monitored devices before performing the following steps. you can then re-enable collection after the upgrade completes.

To install this PowerPack:

  1. Search for and download the PowerPack from the PowerPacks page at the ScienceLogic Support Center (Skylar One > PowerPacks).
  2. In Skylar One, go to the PowerPacks page (System > Manage > PowerPacks).
  3. Click the Actions menu and choose Import PowerPack. The Import PowerPack modal appears.
  4. Click Browse and navigate to the PowerPack file from step 1.
  5. Select the PowerPack file and click Import. The PowerPack Installer modal displays a list of the PowerPack contents.
  6. Click Install. The PowerPack is added to the PowerPack Manager page.

Enhancements and Issues Addressed

The following enhancements and issues were addressed in this release:

  • Updated the PowerPack to use the Restorepoint v2 API, instead of the legacy v1 API endpoints. Updated the following items in the PowerPack:

    • Updated API token authentication using the Basic/Snippet credential. The API token is securely retrieved from the credential configuration rather than being hardcoded.

    • Updated the run book actions and run book automations to work with the new API.

  • Resolved an issue where the following run book actions failed with a gzip decompression error:

    • Restorepoint: Difference between Last Two Backups

    • Restorepoint: Link to Last Configuration Backup

    • Restorepoint: Revert Backup
