Ensure that you are running version 12.3.1 or later of Skylar One before installing the "Cisco: UCSPowerPack.

For details on upgrading Skylar One, see the relevant Skylar One Platform Release Notes.

Installation or Upgrade Process

To install version 107 of the "Cisco: UCS" PowerPack, perform the following steps:

By default, installing a new version of a PowerPack will overwrite all content in that PowerPack that has already been installed on the target system. You can use the Enable Selective PowerPack Field Protection setting in the Behavior Settings page (System > Settings > Behavior) to prevent the new version of the PowerPack from overwriting local changes for some commonly customized fields.

To install this PowerPack:

  1. Familiarize yourself with the Known Issues for this release.
  2. See the Before You Install or Upgrade section. If you have not done so already, upgrade your system to the 12.3.1 or later release.
  3. Download the "Cisco: UCS" PowerPack version 107 from the Support Center to a local computer.
  4. Go to the PowerPack Manager page (System > Manage > PowerPacks). Click the Actions menu and choose Import PowerPack. When prompted, import Cisco: UCS version 107.
  5. Click the Install button. For details on installing PowerPacks, see the chapter on Installing a PowerPack in the PowerPacks manual.

See the manual Monitoring Cisco UCS Manager for instructions on using the new PowerPack.

Enhancements and Issues Addressed

The following enhancements and addressed issues are included in this release:

  • Updated the "Cisco: UCS Chassis Power Stats" Dynamic Application to raise the upper boundary of the "Watts High" threshold from 999 W to 9,999 W. Users with high-density chassis can now set a custom threshold override without encountering a range validation error. With this update, the default threshold value was increased to 2500 W.
  • Updated the "Cisco: UCS Fan Configuration" Dynamic Application to no longer trigger the "Fan Not Operable" alert for fan slots reporting a state of "missing." Environments with unpopulated fan bays no longer generate false-positive fan alerts.
  • Added new alerts to the following Dynamic Applications:
    • "Cisco: UCS Blade Configuration": Added an alert for when a blade's operational state is non-healthy and one for when it recovers.
    • "Cisco: UCS Cluster Information": Added an alert for when the UCS management services enter an unresponsive or degraded state and one for when it recovers.
    • "Cisco: UCS Fabric Configuration": Added an alert for when a Fabric Interconnect's operation state is non-healthy and another for when it recovers.
    • "Cisco: UCS Fabric Interfaces Configuration": Added an alert for when a Fibre Channel port goes down, including the port name, and one for when the port recovers.
    • "Cisco: UCS Fault Configuration": Added memory fault detection and certificate expiry alerting.
    • "Cisco: UCS Interface Configuration": Added an alert for when a host Ethernet adapter link goes down, including the name of the Network Interface Card (NIC), and another for when the link recovers.
  • Updated the silo_netapp library to address an issue that caused errors during execution environment deployment in version 106. (Cases: 00603347, 00607723, 00637887, 00662352)
  • Resolved an issue that mistakenly caused the "Cisco: UCS Blade Discovery" Dynamic Application to be read-only.
