Cisco: UCS Director PowerPack Release Notes, version 103

Version 103 of the "Cisco: UCS Director" PowerPack is an upgrade from the previous version. This version includes updates to several of the PowerPack's Dynamic Applications and device classes, and addresses several additional issues.

  • Minimum Required Skylar One (SL1) Version: 8.1.0

Before You Install

Ensure that you are running version 8.1.0 or later of Skylar One before installing the "Cisco: UCS Director" PowerPack.

Installation Process

To install version 103 of the "Cisco: UCS Director" PowerPack, perform the following steps:

By default, installing a new version of a PowerPack will overwrite all content in that PowerPack that has already been installed on the target system. You can use the Enable Selective PowerPack Field Protection setting in the Behavior Settings page (System > Settings > Behavior) to prevent the new version of the PowerPack from overwriting local changes for some commonly customized fields.

To install this PowerPack:

  1. Search for and download the PowerPack from the PowerPacks page at the ScienceLogic Support Center (Skylar One > PowerPacks).

  2. In Skylar One (formerly SL1), go to the PowerPacks page (System > Manage > PowerPacks).

  3. Click the Actions menu and choose Import PowerPack. The Import PowerPack modal appears.

  4. Click Browse and navigate to the PowerPack file from step 1.

  5. Select the PowerPack file and click Import. The PowerPack Installer modal displays a list of the PowerPack contents.

  6. Click Install. The PowerPack is added to the PowerPack Manager page.

Features

This release includes the following features:

  • Dynamic Applications (22) that enable the ScienceLogic platform to discover, model, and monitor Cisco UCS Director devices
  • Event Policies (26) that are triggered when Cisco UCS Director component devices meet certain status criteria
  • Device Classes (12) for each type of Cisco UCS Director component device monitored
  • A sample credential (1) for discovering Cisco UCS Director component devices

Enhancements and Issues Addressed

The following enhancements and addressed issues are included in this release:

  • A new vBlock device class was added to the PowerPack, and the ACI Application device class was removed.
  • Device tiers were added to the PowerPack's device classes.
  • The "Cisco: UCSD Vitals" Dynamic Application was updated to address an issue that was causing MySQL Server and Java memory utilization to appear above 100%.
  • The "Cisco: UCSD Tenant Discovery" Dynamic Application was updated to prevent APIC Account errors from occurring.
  • The "Cisco: UCSD Container Stats" Dynamic Application was updated to ensure that the correct values are collected.
  • An issue was addressed that was causing the relationship between UCS-Director Application Containers and ACI application network profiles to display incorrectly.

This feature requires that you also install version 102 or greater of the Cisco: ACI PowerPack.

Known Issues

This release has no known issues.
