Cisco: UCS Director PowerPack Release Notes, version 104

Version 104 of the "Cisco: UCS Director" PowerPack includes a new Event Policy for service request failures.

Before You Install or Upgrade

Before you install the "Cisco: UCS Director" PowerPack, ensure that you are running version 8.1.0 or later of Skylar One.

Installation or Upgrade Process

To install version 104 of the "Cisco: UCS Director" PowerPack, perform the following steps:

By default, when you install a new version of a PowerPack, the new version overwrites all content in that PowerPack that has already been installed on the target system. To prevent the new PowerPack version from overwriting local changes to some commonly customized fields, use the Enable Selective PowerPack Field Protection setting in the Behavior Settings page (System > Settings > Behavior).

To install this PowerPack:

  1. Search for and download the PowerPack from the PowerPacks page at the ScienceLogic Support Center (Skylar One > PowerPacks).

  2. In Skylar One (formerly SL1), go to the PowerPacksPowerPack Manager page (System > Manage > PowerPacks).

  3. Click the Actions menu and select Import PowerPack. The Import PowerPack modal appears.

  4. Click Browse and go to the PowerPack file from step 1.

  5. Select the PowerPack file and click Import. The PowerPack Installer modal displays a list of the PowerPack contents.

  6. Click Install. The PowerPack appears on the PowerPack Manager page.

This release includes the following features:

  • Dynamic Applications (23) that enable the ScienceLogic platform to discover, model, and monitor Cisco UCS Director devices
  • Event Policies (27) that are triggered when Cisco UCS Director component devices meet certain status criteria
  • Device Classes (11) for each type of Cisco UCS Director component device monitored
  • A sample credential (1) for discovering Cisco UCS Director component devices

Enhancements and Issues Addressed

This release includes the following enhancements and addressed issues:

  • A new "Cisco: UCSD Service Request Failure" Event Policy was added to the PowerPack. This event is triggered when a service request fails to complete, and the event automatically clears 1.5 hours later. With this update, the existing "Cisco: UCSD Service Request Failed" Event Policy was disabled.
