Cisco: UC Ancillary PowerPack Release Notes, version 102

Version 102 of the "Cisco: UC Ancillary" PowerPack addressed alignment and alerting issues in Dynamic Applications.

  • Minimum Required Skylar One (SL1) Version: 8.7.0

Before You Install or Upgrade

Before you install the "Cisco: UC Ancillary" PowerPack, ensure that you are running version 8.7.0 or later of Skylar One.

For details on upgrading Skylar One, see the relevant Skylar One Platform Release Notes.

Installation or Upgrade Process

To install version 102 of the "Cisco: UC Ancillary" PowerPack, perform the following steps:

By default, when you install a new version of a PowerPack, the new version overwrites all content in that PowerPack that has already been installed on the target system. To prevent the new PowerPack version from overwriting local changes to some commonly customized fields, use the Enable Selective PowerPack Field Protection setting in the Behavior Settings page (System > Settings > Behavior).

To install this PowerPack:

  1. Search for and download the PowerPack from the PowerPacks page at the ScienceLogic Support Center (Skylar One > PowerPacks).

  2. In Skylar One (formerly SL1), go to the PowerPacksPowerPack Manager page (System > Manage > PowerPacks).

  3. Click the Actions menu and select Import PowerPack. The Import PowerPack modal appears.

  4. Click Browse and go to the PowerPack file from step 1.

  5. Select the PowerPack file and click Import. The PowerPack Installer modal displays a list of the PowerPack contents.

  6. Click Install. The PowerPack appears on the PowerPack Manager page.

See the manual Monitoring Cisco Unified Communications Ancillary Devices for instructions on using the new PowerPack.

NOTE: If you are running a version of Skylar One that is prior to the upcoming version 8.7.0, you must import and then compile the following MIB files in Skylar One, in the following order: CISCO-SESS-BORDER-CTRLR-CALL-STATS-MIB, then CISCO-SESS-BORDER-CTRLR-EVENT-MIB.

Known Issues

The following known issues affect version 102 of the "Cisco: UC Ancillary" PowerPack:

  • Some of the Dynamic Applications in the PowerPack will not work properly if a monitored router includes the word "Password" in its login banner, because the SSH library thinks the password was not accepted and the router is asking for the password again.
