Dell EMC: XtremIO PowerPack Release Notes, version 105

Version 105 of the "Dell EMC: XtremIO" PowerPack includes improvements to various Dell EMC XtremIODynamic Applications.

  • Minimum Required Skylar One (SL1) Version: 8.2.0
  • Other Key Information: When configuring a discovery session for an XtremIO system:
    • The Initial Scan Level setting must be set to 5. Deep Discovery
    • The Detection Method & Port field must include TCP: 443 - https

Before You Install or Upgrade

Before you install the "Dell EMC: XtremIO" PowerPack, ensure that you are running version 8.2.0 or later of Skylar One.

Installation or Upgrade Process

To install version 105 of the "Dell EMC: XtremIO" PowerPack, perform the following steps:

By default, when you install a new version of a PowerPack, the new version overwrites all content in that PowerPack that has already been installed on the target system. To prevent the new PowerPack version from overwriting local changes to some commonly customized fields, use the Enable Selective PowerPack Field Protection setting in the Behavior Settings page (System > Settings > Behavior).

To install this PowerPack:

  1. Search for and download the PowerPack from the PowerPacks page at the ScienceLogic Support Center (Skylar One > PowerPacks).

  2. In Skylar One (formerly SL1), go to the PowerPacksPowerPack Manager page (System > Manage > PowerPacks).

  3. Click the Actions menu and select Import PowerPack. The Import PowerPack modal appears.

  4. Click Browse and go to the PowerPack file from step 1.

  5. Select the PowerPack file and click Import. The PowerPack Installer modal displays a list of the PowerPack contents.

  6. Click Install. The PowerPack appears on the PowerPack Manager page.

Features

This release includes the following features:

  • Dynamic Applications that discover and collect data from Dell EMC XtremIO storage devices
  • Event Policies that are triggered when XtremIO storage devices meet certain status criteria
  • Device Classes for each type of XtremIO storage device monitored
  • A sample credential for discovering XtremIO storage devices

Enhancements and Issues Addressed

This release includes the following enhancements and addressed issues:

  • The "Dell EMC: XtremIO Initiator and Initiator Group" Dynamic Application was renamed "Dell EMC: XtremIO Initiator and Initiator Group Config".
  • The "Dell EMC: XtremIO X-Brick Discovery", "Dell EMC: XtremIO LUN Discovery", and "Dell EMC: XtremIO LUN Performance and Capacity Stats" Dynamic Applications were updated to add support for multiple clusters per XMS.
  • The "Dell EMC: XtremIO LUN Performance and Capacity Stats" Dynamic Application was updated to handle bulk performance data.
  • The PowerPack's Dynamic Applications were updated to improve the handling of performance data.
