F5 BIG-IP DNS PowerPack Release Notes, version 101

Version 101 of the "F5: BIG-IP DNS" PowerPack adds compatibility for Python 3, supports BIG-IP 4800 device class, and updates Dynamic Applications.

  • Minimum Required Skylar One (SL1) Version: 12.1.2

Before You Install

Ensure that you are running version 12.1.2 or later of Skylar One before installing the "F5: BIG-IP DNS" PowerPack.

Installation Process

To install version 101 of the "F5: BIG-IP DNS" PowerPack, perform the following steps:

To install this PowerPack:

  1. Search for and download the PowerPack from the PowerPacks page at the ScienceLogic Support Center (Skylar One > PowerPacks).

  2. In Skylar One (formerly SL1), go to the PowerPacks page (System > Manage > PowerPacks).

  3. Click the Actions menu and choose Import PowerPack. The Import PowerPack modal appears.

  4. Click Browse and navigate to the PowerPack file from step 1.

  5. Select the PowerPack file and click Import. The PowerPack Installer modal displays a list of the PowerPack contents.

  6. Click Install. The PowerPack is added to the PowerPack Manager page.

Enhancements and Issues Addressed

The following enhancements and addressed issues are included in this release of the"F5: BIG-IP DNS":

  • Updated the PowerPack to be compatible with Python 3.
  • Updated the PowerPack to support the BIG-IP 4800 device class and to ensure the correct device classification icon appears in the current user interface when viewing in the Device Manager and Device Properties pages.
  • Addressed an issue that caused storage object failures in the "F5 BIG-IP DNS: Pool Configuration" and " F5 BIG-IP DNS: Pool Member Configuration" Dynamic Applications. (Case: 00344259)
  • Updated the Collector Affinity for the Dynamic Applications to Root Device Collector for this PowerPack.
