Version 102 of the "Hitachi Data Systems: VSP" PowerPack added the ability to monitor LUN configuration and performance and the ability to monitor storage pool configuration. This PowerPack can discover both regular and thin storage pools.

Before You Install or Upgrade
Ensure that you are running version 8.2.0 or later of Skylar One before installing the "Hitachi Data Systems: VSP" PowerPack.

Installation or Upgrade Process
To install version 102 of the "Hitachi Data Systems: VSP" PowerPack, perform the following steps:
By default, installing a new version of a PowerPack will overwrite all content in that PowerPack that has already been installed on the target system. You can use the Enable Selective PowerPack Field Protection setting in the Behavior Settings page (System > Settings > Behavior) to prevent the new version of the PowerPack from overwriting local changes for some commonly customized fields.
To install this PowerPack:

Search for and download the PowerPack from the PowerPacks page at the ScienceLogic Support Center (Skylar One > PowerPacks).

In Skylar One (formerly SL1), go to the PowerPacks page (System > Manage > PowerPacks).

Click the Actions menu and choose Import PowerPack. The Import PowerPack modal appears.

Click and navigate to the PowerPack file from step 1.

Select the PowerPack file and click . The PowerPack Installer modal displays a list of the PowerPack contents.

Click . The PowerPack is added to the PowerPack Manager page.
Features
This release includes the following features:
- Dynamic Applications that discover and collect data from Hitachi VSP devices
- Event Policies that are triggered when VSP devices meet certain status criteria
- Device Classes for each type of VSP device monitored
- A sample credential for discovering VSP devices
Enhancements and Issues Addressed
The following enhancements and addressed issues are included in this release:
- The "HDS: VSP Storage Pool Config," "HDS: VSP LUN Config," and "HDS: VSP LUN Stats" Dynamic Applications were added to the PowerPack to provide information about monitored storage pools and LUNs.
- The "HDS: VSP Storage Pool Discovery" and "HDS: VSP Storage Pool Config" Dynamic Applications were updated to collect health information about monitored storage pools and Event Policies were added to alert users when a storage pool's health status is anything other than normal.
- The "HDS: VSP Array Config" Dynamic Application was updated to ensure that it can be aligned to all VSP arrays.
- The "HDS: VSP Thin Provisioned Pool Discovery" and "HDS: Thin Provisioned Pool Stats" Dynamic Applications were updated to collect health information about monitored thin provisioned pools.
