Version 101 of the "IBM: Spectrum Virtualize" PowerPack adds the ability to group discovered components under new container devices, updates device class assignments from the previous version, and improves the accuracy of several event policies and alerts.

Before You Install or Upgrade
Ensure that you are running version 12.3.1 or later of Skylar One before installing the "IBM: Spectrum Virtualize" PowerPack.
For details on upgrading Skylar One, see the relevant Skylar One Platform Release Notes.
In addition, ensure that you have installed the "Low-Code Tools" PowerPack version 104 or greater before installing the "IBM: Spectrum Virtualize" PowerPack.
Installation and Upgrade Process
If you are currently using the Dynamic Applications in this PowerPack to monitor devices, collection errors might occur for one or two polling cycles during the installation of a new version. To prevent collection errors during an upgrade, you can optionally disable collection for monitored devices before performing the following steps and re-enable collection after the upgrade.
To install this PowerPack:
- Search for and download the PowerPack from the PowerPacks page at the ScienceLogic Support Center (Skylar One > PowerPacks).
- In Skylar One (formerly SL1), go to the PowerPacks page (System > Manage > PowerPacks).
- Click the Actions menu and choose Import PowerPack. The Import PowerPack modal appears.
- Click and navigate to the PowerPack file from step 1.
- Select the PowerPack file and click . The PowerPack Installer modal displays a list of the PowerPack contents.
- Click . The PowerPack is added to the PowerPack Manager page.
Upgrading from Version 100
Version 101 of the "IBM: Spectrum Virtualize" PowerPack introduces a new Dynamic Component Mapping (DCM) structure. This structure discovers components under dedicated containers instead of directly under the cluster root device, as version 100 did. Devices that you discovered in version 100 do not automatically migrate to this new structure post-upgrade.
After you upgrade the PowerPack, ScienceLogic recommends rerunning guided discovery for your IBM Spectrum Virtualize devices. When you do so, the system creates new devices with the updated container hierarchy but also retains your previously discovered devices.
As a result, you might have two devices that represent the same system. You can manage the older devices at your discretion if you want to retain their historical data, events, and tickets. If you delete these devices, you permanently lose their historical data.

Enhancements and Issues Addressed
This version of the PowerPack includes the following enhancements and addressed issues:
- Added six new container discovery Dynamic Applications and six device classes to the PowerPack, grouping discovered components under dedicated containers instead of directly under the cluster root device.
- Updated the device classes for discovered volumes and volume groups to ensure proper alignment.
- Reorganized the grouping of discovered components to ensure they appear under the appropriate parent in the device component hierarchy.
- Renamed event policies and alerts that referenced the legacy name "SVC" to "Spectrum Virtualize" for consistency across the PowerPack.
- Added vendor version fields to the PowerPack to identify the supported REST API edition and hardware version for each discovered device.
- Updated the "IBM Spectrum Virtualize Host Status Major" event policy to require three matching alerts within a 45-minute window before it triggers an event. This change ensures that a single failed poll no longer raises an alert.
- Updated how the "IBM: Spectrum Virtualize Storage Pool Configuration" Dynamic Application calculates storage capacity values, to ensure consistent unit conversion.
- Updated the "IBM Spectrum Virtualize Volume Group Replication" recovery point objective (RPO) major alert so that it triggers when a device returns an empty replication status instead of "no".
- Updated the alert text for the "IBM Spectrum Virtualize Volume Group Replication" Location 1 and Location 2 RPO event policies to more clearly describe replication status.
- Updated the "IBM: Spectrum Virtualize System Configuration" Dynamic Application to group related attributes for easier readability.
- Added a "Name" collection object to the "IBM: Spectrum Virtualize System Configuration" Dynamic Application.
- Addressed an issue in which the "IBM: Spectrum Virtualize Volume Group Replication Configuration" Dynamic Application generated a false replication-enabled alert when a device returned an empty value with an HTTP 200 response. (Case: 00645851)
