Version 104 of the "Oracle: Solaris Monitoring" PowerPack adds service monitoring for Oracle Solaris devices and missing device descriptions for Solaris device classes. It also ensures that the Execution Environment for the PowerPack can deploy on Python 3.12.

Before You Install or Upgrade
Ensure that you are running version 12.5.1 or later of Skylar One before installing the "Oracle: Solaris Monitoring" PowerPack.

Installation and Upgrade Process
If you are currently using the Dynamic Applications in this PowerPack to monitor devices, collection errors might occur for one or two polling cycles during the installation of a new version. To prevent these errors, disable collection for the monitored devices before you complete the following steps. You can then re-enable collection after the upgrade completes.
To install this PowerPack:
- Search for and download the PowerPack from the PowerPacks page at the ScienceLogic Support Center (Skylar One > PowerPacks).
- In Skylar One, go to the PowerPacks page (System > Manage > PowerPacks).
- Click the Actions menu and select Import PowerPack. The Import PowerPack modal appears.
- Click and go to the PowerPack file from step 1.
- Select the PowerPack file and click . The PowerPack Installer modal displays a list of the PowerPack contents.
- Click . The PowerPack appears on the PowerPack Manager page.

This release includes the following features:
- Dynamic Applications to collect configuration and performance data about Oracle Solaris systems
- Device classes for each Oracle Solar device that the PowerPack monitors
- A device template for aligning Oracle Solaris Dynamic Applications
- A run book automation policy and action for classifying Oracle Solaris devices
- A sample credential for discovering Oracle Solaris devices
- Event policies and corresponding alerts that trigger when Oracle Solaris devices meet certain status criteria
Enhancements and Issues Addressed
The following enhancements and addressed issues are included in this release:
- Added the "Oracle: Solaris IC Service Inventory" and "Oracle: Solaris IC Service Performance" Dynamic Applications, which collect the state of each Service Management Facility (SMF) service.
- Added a "services" collection object to the "Oracle: Solaris ICDA Cache" Dynamic Application. You can use existing Skylar One service monitoring policies to generate events from the service states that these Dynamic Applications collect.
- Added missing device descriptions for Oracle Solaris devices.
- Ensured that the PowerPack's Execution Environment can deploy on Python 3.12.
