Version 103 of the "Dell EMC: Unity" PowerPack updates the PowerPack for Python 3.6-compatibility using Snippet Framework, adds a universal example credential, and removes several Dynamic Application collection objects.

Before You Install or Upgrade
Ensure that you are running version 12.1.1 or later of SL1 before installing "Dell EMC: Unity" PowerPack version 103.

Installation Process
To install version 103 of the "Dell EMC: Unity" PowerPack, perform the following steps:
By default, installing a new version of a PowerPack will overwrite all content in that PowerPack that has already been installed on the target system. You can use the Enable Selective PowerPack Field Protection setting in the Behavior Settings page (System > Settings > Behavior) to prevent the new version of the PowerPack from overwriting local changes for some commonly customized fields.
To install this PowerPack:
- Familiarize yourself with the Known Issues for this release.
- See the Before You Install or Upgrade section. If you have not done so already, upgrade your system to the 12.1.1 or later release.
- Download the "Dell EMC: Unity" version 103 PowerPack from the Support Site to a local computer.
- Go to the PowerPack Manager page (System > Manage > PowerPacks). Click the menu and choose Import PowerPack. When prompted, import "Dell EMC: Unity" version 103.

Enhancements and Issues Addressed
The following enhancements and addressed issues are included in this release:
- Updated the PowerPack for Python 3.6-compatibility using Snippet Framework.
- Added the "Dell EMC: Unity Example SF" universal example credential.
- Removed the following "Dell EMC: Unity LUN Discovery" Dynamic Application collection objects, as the "Dell EMC: Unity LUN Config" Dynamic Application collects the same information:

- Tiering Policy
- Updated the Collector Affinity to assigned collector in all Dynamic Applications.
- Updated the "Dell EMC: Unity Classify Root Device Class" run book action so that it no longer uses the "EM7 Central Database" credential.
After you update the PowerPack to version 103, ScienceLogic recommends that you edit the "Dell EMC: Unity Classify Root Device Class" run book action to change the Snippet Credential field to None.
- Updated the poll frequency to 15 minutes for the "Dell EMC: Unity Storage Pool Discovery" and "Dell EMC: Unity LUN Discovery" Dynamic Applications.
- Added a custom step to the PowerPack to support Retries in HTTP API calls. For more information see HTTP Retries in Monitoring Dell EMC: Unity.
