RestorepointSyncPack, version 2.3.0

Version 2.3.0 of the "Restorepoint" SyncPack adds multi-password support, a new application for syncing compliance alerts from Restorepoint to SL1 as events, and improves the efficiency and scalability of onboarding bulk devices.

This SyncPack uses the "RestorepointPowerPack.

Features Included in this Release

The following features were added in this release:

  • Added the new "Restorepoint: Gather Compliance Logs From Restorepoint" application to the SyncPack to sync compliance alerts from Restorepoint back to SL1. Running this application triggers the "Restorepoint : Update Event Info in SL1" application to create an event for the compliance alert in SL1.
  • Added multi-password support to the SyncPack to work in conjunction with the new "Restorepoint Second Password" Dynamic Application that was added to the Restorepoint PowerPack. If you have a device requiring two sets of credentials, both sets are now synced to Restorepoint.
  • Added the grouping_device_count configuration option to the "Restorepoint: Onboard Device" and "Restorepoint: Sync Devices" applications, which allows you to define how many devices can be processed in each run of the application.
  • Updated the SyncPack to support syncing multiple instances of SL1 to one instance of Restorepoint.
  • Made a number of scale improvements to the SyncPack:

    • Updated the "Restorepoint: Onboard Device" and "Restorepoint: Sync Devices" applications so that SL1 device details are sent in a single API call when onboarding bulk devices.

    • Improved the "Get 'Dynamic Applications' aligned with" and "Get credential details from SL1" steps when onboarding bulk devices.

    • Improved the "Restorepoint: Onboard Device" application so that organization and Restorepoint domain details are properly retrieved when onboarding bulk devices.

    • Improved the "Restorepoint: Onboard Device" application so that device class and collector group details are properly retrieved when onboarding bulk devices.

    • Updated the "Look for a Restorepoint credential" step of the "Restorepoint: Onboard Device" application to make onboarding bulk devices more efficient. Additionally, the step was renamed to "Create and Update Restorepoint Credential".

    • Updated the "Create Restorepoint Device" step of the "Restorepoint : Onboard Device" application to make onboarding bulk devices more efficient.

  • Updated the "Update the SL1 device custom attribute" step of the "Restorepoint: Onboard Device" application to ensure correct results and reduce the number of API calls.
  • After onboarding devices, if devices have the same credential, they will now be aligned to that credential set and their device IDs will be updated. If the devices have different credentials, the new credential set will be created.
  • Updated the "Get list of credentials from Restorepoint" step of the "Restorepoint: Get List Of Credentials From SL1" application to display data as expected when the SL1 credential is changed.

Installing the SyncPack

A SyncPack file has the .whl file extension type. You can download the SyncPack file from the ScienceLogic Support site.

To locate and download the SyncPack:

  2. Click the Product Downloads tab and select PowerPacks & SyncPacks.
  3. In the Search field, type the name of this SyncPack and select it from the search results. The Release Version page appears.
  4. On the Files tab, click the down arrow next to the SyncPack version that you want to install, and select Show File Details. The Release File Details page appears.
  5. Click the Download File button to download the SyncPack.

After you download a SyncPack, you can import it to the PowerFlow platform using the PowerFlow user interface.

To import a SyncPack in the PowerFlow user interface:

You cannot edit the content package in a SyncPack published by ScienceLogic. You must make a copy of a ScienceLogic SyncPack and save your changes to the new SyncPack to prevent overwriting any information in the original SyncPack when upgrading.

To activate and install a SyncPack in the PowerFlow user interface:

  1. On the SyncPacks page, click the Actions button () for the SyncPack you want to install and select Activate & Install. The Activate & Install SyncPack modal appears.

If you try to activate and install a SyncPack that is already activated and installed, you can choose to "force" installation across all the nodes in the PowerFlow system.

If you do not see the PowerPack that you want to install, click the Filter icon () on the SyncPacks page and select Toggle Inactive SyncPacks to see a list of the imported PowerPacks.

  1. Click Yes to confirm the activation and installation. When the SyncPack is activated, the SyncPacks page displays a green check mark icon for that SyncPack. If the activation or installation failed, then a red exclamation mark icon appears.
  2. For more information about the activation and installation process, click the check mark icon or the exclamation mark icon in the Activated column for that SyncPack. For a successful installation, the "Activate & Install SyncPack" PowerFlow application appears, and you can view the Step Log for the steps. For a failed installation, the Error Logs window appears.
