Tips for Using this Site
This page contains a list of tips and best practices for using the ScienceLogic product release notes.
General
- The product release notes contain details about new and updated features in SL1, SL1 PowerFlow, and SL1 PowerPacks. For more information about known issues, see the Known Issues page at the ScienceLogic Support Site.
- The documentation at this site contains all release notes for the various features of SL1. You can click the Download Release Notes link at the top of each chapter to download the PDF version of the release notes.
- To hide the Table of Contents that displays at the left of the Help window, click the button (). To show the Contents again, click the button ().
Searching the Site
- To search for a specific item in the release notes, such as a ScienceLogic Support Case number, type the relevant information in the Search bar at the top of the page. After you select a release notes from the search results page, type the same search into your browser's Search (Ctrl+F), such as "00112457" for a specific Case.
- If you are using a multiple-word search for a specific term, enclose those words in quotation marks ("").
- For example: "system update".
- If you do not use quotes around a term, the online docs assume you want to search for any of those terms, such as system OR update, as opposed to a search for system AND update with quotes.
- Use the following command to search the product release notes via the SL1 API: https://docs.sciencelogic.com/release_notes_html/#search-<your-query-here>. For example: https://docs.sciencelogic.com/release_notes_html/#search-00112457.
- After you click a link to a page from the search results, your search term or terms display as one or more highlighted colors. To get rid of the highlights, click the Remove Highlights button () on the toolbar at top right of the Help content pane.
Locating Older Versions of Release Notes
- The Documentation team maintains only current releases of ScienceLogic product release notes. This includes the versions of SL1 and PowerFlow that are not End of Life, and the three most recent releases of PowerPacks and SyncPacks.
- To locate older versions of release notes:
- At the release note site, locate the most recent version of the release notes for the product you need.
- Click the button at the top of the release notes page. The PDF version opens in a new tab or browser window.
- Make a note of the version number in the URL for the PDF version, such as IS_Platform-270_release_notes.htm or Cisco_Meraki_API-110_release_notes.htm.
- Change the number in the URL to the version number you need, and then press 113.5, use an underscore (_) in place of the period: 113_5. . If the version has a period in it, such as
- If the older version of the PDF does not appear, email the Documentation team at docs@sciencelogic.com.
Links
- If you want to share or save a link to specific location in the release notes, click the link icon () to the right of the heading for a topic or sub-topic. That topic moves to the top of the reading pane, and you can copy the URL in the Address bar of the browser to share or save that location.
- If a link to an external site does not open properly in a new browser window or tab, right-click the link in the product release notes and select the option to open the link in a new tab or window.
Images
- An image in the product documentation might appear slightly blurry until you click that image to expand it in a pop-up window.
- If you clicked to expand an image in a pop-up window, you will need to click the expanded image in its pop-up window to return it to its regular size before you can click another image or link in the product documentation.
- You can also right-click an image and select Open Image in New Tab from the pop-up menu to make the image display at full size in the new browser tab.
Guides from the "Classic" User Interface
- As of version 8.12.2 of SL1, ScienceLogic will no longer update the help content that appears when you click the button in the classic user interface. All help content will be updated and maintained here at https://docs.sciencelogic.com.
