Features in Version 2.6.0

This section lists the new features that are included in this release of Skylar AI.

Skylar Advisor

  • The Event Lens page was renamed the Data Lens page, and the Event Groups tab was changed to Signals to show that not all events end up on this page. This change addresses a misunderstanding regarding which events are displayed in the user interface by ensuring signal labeling is consistent throughout the application.

  • The Corpus page was renamed the Knowledge page.

  • Added the following options to the Preview Features page ( > Account Settings > Preview Features):

    • Web Search. Adds a Web Search section to the Knowledge page that enables Skylar Advisor to answer from specific web sources live and on-demand, instead of using the uploaded Corpus documentation. You can configure five different ScienceLogic Product Documentation sites as well as third-party sites. Answers include source links and retrieval times, and they are never stored nor indexed.

Note that you will need to click Research: Web in the Ask Skylar prompt box to use this feature.

    • Metrics Enhanced Advisories. Adds more details to Advisories and Investigations. When an Advisory or Investigation is generated, Skylar Advisor snapshots the data-lake metrics for the affected devices and adds an AI-analyzed summary to the report.

    • Corpus Tools. Enabling this option adds an Info Gaps tools section to the Knowledge page for situations where the documentation in the Corpus is insufficient. Skylar Advisor presents tools to cover the gaps, or you can generate a new document that addresses the issue.

Enabling this option also adds a KB Health tools section to the Knowledge page for tracking citations, sentiment, influence, and impact for each generated article, with an AI quality check and a proposed rewrite.

    • Scheduled Reports. Enabling this option lets you create a recurring report for an MCP tool that you can read and export. You can view and edit these reports on the Reports tab of the Dashboards page. To schedule a report, go to the Toolbox page ( > Advisor > Toolbox) and click the Schedule button from a finished tool run.

  • The following options on the Preview Features page "graduated" to become permanent elements of the Skylar Advisor user interface:

    • Slack Integrations

    • Teams Integrations

    • Active Session Tracker

You can access a list of all "graduated" preview features on the Help Center.

  • If you have the Agentic Control Plane page ( > Account Settings > Agentic Control Plane > MCP Tools) enabled, you can add the "Skylar Automation" MCP Tool from the list of suggested tools. This tool lets you connect a Skylar Automation instance and bring the Skylar Automation MCP tools directly into the Skylar Advisor interface. For more information, see Configuring the Skylar Automation MCP Server.

  • To better show relationships between events and Advisories, you can click the Events button on any Advisory to open the Related Events pane. This panel lists additional information about all of the devices and events related to this Advisory, including root cause. You can click the View Graph button to see a visualization of the data flow that includes events, devices, device groups, and business services, where relevant.

  • Skylar Advisor will label an Advisory as a "Prediction" if that Advisory was based on Predictive Alerting.

  • Added a User Profile page that you can access from any user's avatar in a conversation. This page displays monthly activity trends and token spend for a specific user. Owners can also access an on-demand AI coaching feature to analyze user activity and suggest improvements.

  • On the Corpus tab of the Knowledge page, added an inline filter bar and an improved Clear All button to align with standard Skylar One user experience.

  • For theCorpus tab of the Knowledge page, optimized the SQL queries and refactored the count calls for document environments. With these optimizations, the document count appears significantly faster than the previous release of Skylar Advisor.

  • Improved the performance of the Advisories view on the Recent Activity page by optimizing data transformations and reducing the volume of columns processed.

  • Updated the trend analysis logic in Skylar Advisor to exclude archived messages. The analysis now only processes active messages.

Skylar Analytics

  • The Data Visualization component of Skylar Analytics now includes new datasets and views that allow users to report on devices and business services aligned to geographical locations. This includes attributes such as location name, coordinates, and regional metadata.

  • Dashboard datasets in the Data Visualization component are automatically synchronized whenever a dashboard is installed or updated, ensuring visualizations always reflect the current schema.

  • Enabled language translation support in the Data Visualization component , with initial support for French. Users can now toggle the interface language through the Data Visualization (Superset) settings.

Skylar AI Platform and Skylar Settings

  • Added a Search field and filters for Status and Group to the Skylar Settings Users page ( > Account Settings > Account Access > Users). These options allows administrators to easily manage and locate users in growing environments.

  • Every time a user logs in, Skylar AI selects one of thirty randomized welcome messages, along with the user's name.

  • Updated the Skylar AI Installation Guide with the latest installation and configuration information.

Issues Addressed in Version 2.6.0

This section lists the issues that were addressed in this release.

Skylar Advisor

  • Addressed an issue where Investigations incorrectly reported that zero tokens were used for generation. The Thread Audit panel now accurately reflects the token count for all investigation work. (Jira ID: SKY-4393)

  • Addressed an issue where documents with public visibility on the Knowledge page (formerly the Corpus page) did not appear in search results when the "Public" filter was selected. (Jira ID: SKY-4112)

  • Addressed an issue where the Activity tab of the Customer Insights page did not work in Skylar Advisor version 2.5.1.

  • Removed the time range filter from the Knowledge page to prevent users from receiving empty results when attempting to filter by upload date. (Jira IDs: SKY-4660, SKY-4609)

  • Implemented a timestamp guardrail to prevent errors caused by incorrect timestamp formats within grouping IDs. (Jira ID: SKY-4919)

  • Updated the events view for selected Advisories on the Data Lens page to display timestamps in the user's local time instead of UTC. (Jira ID: SKY-4657)

  • Resolved a mismatch where the evidence shown in an Investigation did not align with the specific event being analyzed. (Jira ID: SKY-4268)

  • Standardized user avatar colors across the Skylar Advisor pages and dialogs to provide a cohesive visual experience. (Jira ID: SKY-4835)

  • Added a vertical scroll bar to the KB Quality Check pane to ensure all content is accessible when the pane exceeds the window height. (Jira ID: SKY-4762)

  • Removed the unnecessary horizontal scroll bar from the Archive/Unarchive dialog on the Recent Activity page when the browser window is resized. (Jira ID: SKY-4681)

Skylar AnalyticsData Visualization

  • Resolved an issue where newly provisioned users encountered a "500 Internal Server Error" when accessing the Skylar Analytics page. (Jira ID: SKY-3674)

  • Addressed an issue where dark mode did not work in the Data Visualization component. (Jira ID: SKY-4737)

Known Issues

This section lists the known issues for this release.

  • If you already have a large number of documents in your Skylar Advisor Corpus and you upload new documents, the new documents might not appear be uploading or displaying in the user interface immediately. The upload and ingestion of those documents is still taking place, but due to a known issue, the user interface in this situation does not show an in-progress Ingesting state while the work completes. No action is needed other than waiting for the upload and ingestion to finish. Typically this kind of delay occurs when there are more than eight thousand documents already in the Corpus. This issue impacts all versions of Skylar Advisor.

  • Filtering by type on the Knowledge page in the Skylar Advisor user interface does not work in this release. (Jira ID: SKY-4958)

  • Dynamic Application objects with special characters in the name might conflict with other objects in Skylar AI reporting tables. The workaround for this issue is to modify the Dynamic Application objects so that the name does not contain a special character. (Case: 00617628) (Jira ID: SKY-3305)

  • A Skylar AI instance can ingest telemetry from multiple external sources, but only one Skylar One system should be configured to send telemetry to that Skylar AI instance to prevent data collisions and potential data corruption. To avoid this situation, do not reuse a Skylar AI authentication token with more than one Skylar One systems that are sending data to that Skylar AI instance. (Jira ID: SKY-3538)

  • If the session inactivity timeout value for a Super User or a standard user is adjusted on the Authentication page ( > Account Access > Authentication) of Skylar Settings, the affected user does not get logged out after the new timeout value expires (if that user is currently logged in and remains inactive). (Jira IDs: SKY-3734, SKY-3732)

  • If you had customized tables and views in an older version of the Data Visualization component of Skylar Analytics, that data will not display correctly if you upgrade to Skylar AI version 2.1.0. Any tables and views created in the local database require that the "InstID" and "OrgID" columns contain data for related datasets, charts, and dashboards to be functional. You should not experience this issue if your tables and views in the local database contain values in the "InstID" and "OrgID" columns. (Jira ID: SKY-3824)

  • If an Administrator user removes the "Event Trends (Sample)" dashboard on the Manage Bundles tab of the Dashboards page, the dashboard still appears in the Data Visualization component of Skylar Analytics. Also, if the "Interface Explorer (Sample)" dashboard is added using the Dashboards page, that dashboard does not display in Data Visualization. (Jira IDs: SKY-3739, SKY-3737)

  • Skylar AI uses unique PowerPack naming conventions for creating datasets in the Data Visualization component. If you change the name of a PowerPack, Skylar AI triggers a new dataset, which will cause charts to fail and lose the historical data for that PowerPack. At this time, ScienceLogic recommends that you do not rename any PowerPacks in Skylar One if that Skylar One system is connected to a Skylar AI environment.

  • When Anomaly Detection trains on a metric whose declared unit is "%", the upper bound of the AD confidence band is constrained to 100 based on the assumption that percentage-unit metrics fall within 0–100. However, this setting does not account for metrics that could return values above 100%. For more information, see the following Knowledge Base Article (KBA) at the ScienceLogic Support Center: https://support.sciencelogic.com/s/article/21269. (Case: 00643786) (Jira ID: SKY-3763)
