Features in Version 2.5.0
This section lists the new features that are included in this release of Skylar AI.
Skylar Advisor
-
The Agentic Control Plane page is now displaying actual device metrics instead of sample data, letting you view metrics in Skylar Advisor instead of having to switch to Skylar One to view device data.
-
The Preview Features page (
> Account Settings > Preview Features) contains a set of new features that users can toggle on or off so they can evaluate those features. For this release, the Preview Features page includes the following options:
-
Selecting the MCP Toolsoption on this page enables the tab on the Agentic Control Plane page (
> Account Settings > Agentic Control Plane > MCP Tools). The tab lets Admin users register and preview external tools called MCP servers. When you enable an MCP server, it is added as a resource on the prompt box and Quick Promptstoolbar, extending what Skylar Advisor can query and act on beyond the uploaded documents in the Corpus.
Selecting this option also adds the Toolbox page (
> Advisor > Toolbox) and the Tools pop-up menu to the Ask Skylar prompt box in the Skylar Advisor user interface. These new features give you access to the AI agent tools from the available MCP servers.
-
Selecting the Metrics Enhanced Advisories option adds more details to Advisories generated by Skylar AI. When an Advisory or Investigation is generated, Skylar Advisor snapshots the data-lake metrics for the affected devices and adds an AI-analyzed summary to the report.
-
-
The Skylar AI version number now displays on the login page and the Versions pop-up, which you can access at the bottom right of every page.
-
Added support for local timezone preferences on the Data Lens page.
-
Updated the Skylar AI Installation Guide with the latest installation and configuration information.
Skylar Analytics
-
The Data Visualization component of Skylar Analytics was upgraded to Apache Superset version 6.0.0 for all new Skylar AI installations. This update includes a refreshed user interface, improved dashboard performance and editing experience, improved filtering, enhanced SQL Lab features, and other platform and security improvements.
-
Journal Dynamic Application data can now be exported from Skylar One for enabled organizations. Each Journal Dynamic Application in a PowerPack gets a view in the reporting database with the name Journal<PowerPack>.
-
Implemented a Time-To-Live (TTL) policy for several tables in the Data Visualization component, including Advisory_alert_queue and AdvisoryOut. This policy automates data cleanup and prevents performance issues caused by large backlogs of manual mutations.
Anomaly Detection
- In Skylar One, the Device Anomaly Count on the Anomaly Detection page displays the number of unique Dynamic Application metrics where Skylar AI has found an anomaly. The anomaly is counted regardless of whether that anomaly was sent to Skylar One as an alert.
Skylar AI Platform
-
Added support for smaller 4-GPU deployments in addition to the prior minimum 8-GPU requirement, allowing Skylar Advisor to run on a smaller hardware footprint. This configuration is suitable for RTX 6000 or H100 GPU clusters. This release also adds support for NVIDIA 580 drivers, specifically 580.105.08.
-
Environment variables across Skylar AI services have been aligned and cleaned up to ensure consistency. This includes the removal of redundant variables like PIPELINES_DB_NAME and unused GPU-specific variables.
Issues Addressed in Version 2.5.0
This section lists the issues that were addressed in this release.
Skylar Advisor
-
Addressed an issue with Skylar Advisor deployments on RTX 6000 GPUs where a Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA ) error prevented successful transactions. (Jira ID: SKY-4380)
-
Restored of the ability to drill into the events for an Advisory and retrieve the event signals that triggered the Advisory. (Jira ID: SKY-4388)
-
Advisories and Investigations no longer provide outdated reference links and competitor data as part of their detailed reports. (Jira ID: SKY-4340)
-
Updated the document stats report to correctly handle the new "processing" status during ingestion. This ensures that documents in progress are reported accurately until they reach an active state. (Jira ID: SKY-4561)
-
Resolved an issue in Firefox where the Data Lens page displayed an "Invalid Date" error. (Jira ID: SKY-4283)
Skylar Analytics: Data Visualization
-
Addressed an issue with timestamps that caused CANNOT_PARSE_TEXT errors. (Jira ID: SKY-4280)
-
Resolved an issue where default time filters on dashboards prevented data from being displayed. Updated Skylar Analytics to ensure dashboards correctly visualize data within the default 7-day range. (Jira ID: SKY-4164)
-
Addressed an issue where Out-Of-Memory (OOM) errors occurred during multi-tenant data ingestion, when the Data Visualization component was filtering complex views from queries.(Jira ID: SKY-4164)
Skylar Settings
- Resolved an issue that locked a Superuser owner out of accounts when the reserved session slot was occupied by an Owner user. (Jira ID: SKY-4164)

Known Issues
This section lists the known issues for this release.
-
Dynamic Application objects with special characters in the name might conflict with other objects in Skylar AI reporting tables. The workaround for this issue is to modify the Dynamic Application objects so that the name does not contain a special character. (Case: 00617628) (Jira ID: SKY-3305)
-
A Skylar AI instance can ingest telemetry from multiple external sources, but only one Skylar One system should be configured to send telemetry to that Skylar AI instance to prevent data collisions and potential data corruption. To avoid this situation, do not reuse a Skylar AI authentication token with more than one Skylar One systems that are sending data to that Skylar AI instance. (Jira ID: SKY-3538)
-
If the session inactivity timeout value for a Super User or a standard user is adjusted on the Authentication page (
> Account Access > Authentication) of Skylar Settings, the affected user does not get logged out after the new timeout value expires (if that user is currently logged in and remains inactive). (Jira IDs: SKY-3734, SKY-3732)
-
Dark mode does not currently work in version 2.5.0 of the Data Visualization component of Skylar Analytics. (Jira ID: SKY-4747 )
-
If you had customized tables and views in an older version of the Data Visualization component of Skylar Analytics, that data will not display correctly if you upgrade to Skylar AI version 2.1.0. Any tables and views created in the local database require that the "InstID" and "OrgID" columns contain data for related datasets, charts, and dashboards to be functional. You should not experience this issue if your tables and views in the local database contain values in the "InstID" and "OrgID" columns. (Jira ID: SKY-3824)
-
If an Administrator user removes the "Event Trends (Sample)" dashboard on the tab of the Dashboards page, the dashboard still appears in the Data Visualization component of Skylar Analytics. Also, if the "Interface Explorer (Sample)" dashboard is added using the Dashboards page, that dashboard does not display in Data Visualization. (Jira IDs: SKY-3739, SKY-3737)
-
Skylar AI uses unique PowerPack naming conventions for creating datasets in the Data Visualization component. If you change the name of a PowerPack, Skylar AI triggers a new dataset, which will cause charts to fail and lose the historical data for that PowerPack. At this time, ScienceLogic recommends that you do not rename any PowerPacks in Skylar One if that Skylar One system is connected to a Skylar AI environment.

When Anomaly Detection trains on a metric whose declared unit is "%", the upper bound of the AD confidence band is constrained to 100 based on the assumption that percentage-unit metrics fall within 0–100. However, this setting does not account for metrics that could return values above 100%. For more information, see the following Knowledge Base Article (KBA) at the ScienceLogic Support Center: https://support.sciencelogic.com/s/article/21269. (Case: 00643786) (Jira ID: SKY-3763)
