Documentation Updates for Skylar One 12.5 (Juneau)

Updates to the Product Documentation for Skylar One 12.5.1 PDF Documentation

Added three new access hooks (PLAT_SETTINGS_EMAIL_EDIT, PLAT_SETTINGS_PROCS_EDIT, and RBK_ACTIONS_SNIPPET), as well as a new "Platform - Administration" access key.

Access Permissions

Added the ability to install a Skylar One agent from the Devices page.

Added the ability to specify as many as four Linux or Windows proxy server configurations when installing an agent.

Agent Monitoring

Revamped the processes for creating and editing service policies.

Updated the Business Services page with a redesigned Preview pane, the ability to bulk update service refresh intervals, and updated columns.

Made several changes to the Overview and Timeline panels on the Service Investigator.

Business Services

Renamed the "AIML Predictions" widget type to "Skylar Automated RCA" and updated several element names in the widget to reflect that change.

Dashboards

Added new topology options at the device template level that make it easier for Skylar One to form relationships between devices.

Added a new Ignore Case checkbox when defining a system process monitoring policy on the Proc Policies tab in a device template.

Device Groups and Device Templates

Added the ability to create virtual devices, create physical devices, install a Skylar One agent, create asset records, align Device Investigator layouts to one or more devices, and create reports for individual devices from the Devices page. This page also includes several new columns.

Made updates to the Events panel of the Device Investigator, as well as the Anomaly Detection, Configs, and Thresholds tabs.

Added new topology options at the device and device class level that make it easier for Skylar One to form relationships between devices.

Device Management

Reorganized the Credentials page into two tabs: Summary and Types.

Added the ability to create and manage new credential types.

Made several changes to the PowerShell Credential Editor in the default user interface (AP2), including new Certificate Validation and Message Encryption Setting fields plus a renamed Use SSL (HTTPS) field.

Discovery and Credentials

Redesigned the Event Policy Editor to make the process of creating event policies more intuitive. The Event Policy Editor now consists of three tabs: Basic, Advanced, and Summary.

Added the ability to align event policies to specific organizations.

Added several new capabilities to the Events page to provide more flexibility when viewing and managing events.

Events

The About page now displays the AP2 release version name in addition to the existing AP2 release version number.

Introduction to Skylar One

Introduced a new geographic maps feature that allows you to visualize devices on a map and provide location-based insights of those devices at a glance.

Maps

Removed all remaining legacy Python 2 code and functionality. As of this release, Skylar One only supports Python 3 code.

ScienceLogic Libraries and Execution Environments

Added several new data types that can be exported to Skylar AI from Skylar One.

Added the ability to create a Skylar AI Engine service connection from the Service Connections page to enable the export of data from to Skylar AI.

Skylar Analytics

Updated the subscription billing configuration processes to provide more specific information for users that send data to the billing server daily (general users) and those who do not (secure users).

Subscription Billing

Added the ability to determine whether Skylar One appliances, authentication profiles, and authentication resources are shared with all organizations or if they are private.

Added new topology options at the system level that make it easier for Skylar One to form relationships between devices.

Added the ability to override the hard-coded default options for exporting metadata to Skylar AI.

System Administration

The Product Documentation site at https://docs.sciencelogic.com was updated with the following enhancements:
