Updates to the Product Documentation for Skylar One (SL1) 12.3 PDF Documentation

Updated the minimum agent versions for Windows version 131; Linux version 174; AIX version 180; and Solaris version 180 beginning with Skylar One (SL1) version 12.1.1.

Agent Monitoring

The Machine Learning page was renamed Anomaly Detection, and the Machine Learning Thresholds page was renamed Anomaly Detection Thresholds. You can access these pages from the new Skylar AI page in Skylar One.

Anomaly Detection

The Business Services and Service Investigator pages have been updated to include new features, such as new information in the Timeline panel on the Service Investigator page.

The Policies page was renamed the Service Policies page and multiple new columns were added to the page.

You can now enable or disable services in bulk on the Business Services page.

Business Services

Added the ability to enable TLS encryption for incoming email.

Configuring Inbound and Outbound Email

Improved data visibility and management for widgets on the Dashboards page. Widgets can display different scale prefix options for non-percentage-based metrics.

Added a new Device Groups widget option, which can display a table that includes the name, device count, and event severity for device groups.

Dashboards

Added a new Relationships and Membership panel to the Device Investigator page. The new panel displays details about the other devices and services that have relationships to the selected device.

You can now edit Device Investigator layouts, copy layouts, and save existing layouts with different names.

Updated the method for performing bulk actions to multiple devices on the Devices page and added new types of bulk actions that you can perform from that page.

Device Management

When creating a new credential, a search box displays that lets you review a list of credential types organized by Core Credentials and Universal Credentials.

Discovery and Credentials

Added a new Skylar Analytics Summary panel to the Event Investigator page to show predictive alerts from Skylar AI.

Added Skylar AI as an option in the Event Source drop-down field for event policies. You can also filter your search by events sourced by Skylar AI on the Event Policies pages.

Global Manager systems now use single sign-on (SSO) configuration by default.

Added the GQL Browser page (System > Tools > GQL Browser), which enables you to explore and perform GraphQL operations in Skylar One.

GraphQL

Added a footer to the user interface that includes the current Skylar One (SL1) version and build number. Optionally, it can also display the time stamp of your last successful or failed login attempt.

Introduction to Skylar One

Added proxy support for the run book action type of "Send an AWS SNS message".

In the classic user interface, you can now align a run book automation policy with one or more Skylar One business services.

Run Book Automation

Removed support for Python 3.9 and added support for Python 3.11 for Dynamic Applications and execution environments.

ScienceLogic Libraries and Execution Environments

When upgrading MariaDB, you should now use the command "siloupdate upgrade-mariadb" to upgrade MariaDB packages on appliances in your Skylar One stack.

System Administration

The new Skylar AI page in Skylar One represents the Skylar AI engine, which gathers and analyzes data from Skylar One for anomaly detection and predictive alerting. You can use the Skylar AI page in Skylar One to access Skylar Analytics, Skylar Predictive Alerting, Skylar Automated RCA, and Skylar Anomaly Detection.

Added a Skylar AI Status column to the Organizations page (Registry > Accounts > Organizations) that displays whether the Skylar AI is enabled or disabled for a specific organization.

The Product Documentation site at https://docs.sciencelogic.com was updated with the following enhancements:

  • Created a new Skylar AI documentation site, which contains documentation for Skylar Automated RCA (formerly Zebrium) and Skylar Analytics.
  • Created new landing pages for Skylar One PowerPacks and PowerFlow SyncPacks that include links to the relevant manuals and links to the installation files for each Pack.
  • Added release notes for Skylar One AP2 releases, Skylar Automated RCA, and Skylar Analytics to the Release Notes site.
