Dynamic Applications that leverage the Low Code No Code CLI/SSH framework can execute using the agent.

You can now choose from an .msi file as well as an .exe file to install the Windows SL1 agent.

On SL1 systems running agents, SL1 automatically updates the value of the Responder API Base URL field on the Behavior Settings page (System > Settings > Behavior).

Agent Monitoring

You can now click an external ticket reference from the "Cleared Events" table to view the correct ServiceNow ticket.

The Changes tab, formerly labeled the Change Events tab, now displays change events from Restorepoint. The tab now lets you filter active or cleared events by 5, 7, 14, or 30 days.

Added a 'Next Refresh' value to the Business Services Overview page that informs when the next run for Health, Availability, and Risk (HAR) will occur. These times are based upon the user's time-zone preference.

Business Services

Outbound email can now be configured to use OAuth 2, PLAIN, Login, or CRAM-MD5 authentication and SMTPS or SMTP with TLS encryption.

Configuring Inbound or Outbound Email

The Dashboard URLs column on the Dashboards page now shows the unique identifier for dashboards, which lets you export linked dashboards to PowerPacks.

You can now select one or more Dashboards as favorites that display at the top of the list on the Dashboards page.

The Line Chart widget now lets you add Stack Options to your created widget.

A widget title can now link to another dashboard, internal SL1 link, or external URL.

Dashboards

Added a new Dynamic Rule selector to Device Groups. You can now select by Software Title to match software title and software version.

Device Groups and Templates

The Monitoring Policies pages in Registry > Monitors now include the [Select Action] drop-down that provides bulk enable and bulk disable options for monitoring policies. These pages also include a new State column that displays if a policy is enabled or disabled.

Device Infrastructure Health

The new Logs tab on the Device Investigator page displays all of the logs for a device.

The new Changes tab on the Device Investigator page displays a list of change events from ServiceNow or Restorepoint.

On the Devices page, you can click the Expand icon next to a device name to open a new Device Summary modal with additional details about that device.

The Custom Attributes page (Manage > Custom Attributes) now includes a Subscriber Count column.

In the Schedule Editor, you can select the Preserve Schedule checkbox to exclude schedules from being pruned after expiration.

Device Management

New guided discovery workflows were added for Google Cloud, Windows, SNMP, and pingable devices. Additionally, sub-workflows were added for AWS Assume Role, AWS EC2, AWS IAM, Windows WMI, Windows PowerShell, and Windows Agent.

A new Discovery Session Name field was added to all guided discovery workflows.

SL1 now displays a discovery log during the final step of certain guided discovery workflows.

New universal credentials were added for use in AWS Assume Role, AWS EC2, and AWS IAM guided discovery workflows.

A new universal credential was added for S3 configuration backups.

On the Dynamic Applications Manager page (System > Manage >Dynamic Applications), the Select Action menu now includes an option to bulk disable and bulk enable Dynamic Applications.

On the Events page, you can click the Expand icon next to an event name to open a new Device Summary modal with additional details about the impacted device.

At the top of the Events page, the severity filters now display as oval-shaped "pills" instead of boxes.

You can now configure SL1 to receive webhook messages from third-party systems and then generate events from those messages.

Users can add and manage a new widget, the Organization table, in the Global Manager system dashboards.

The Global View toggle in Global Manager might be hidden due to user permission. Users can toggle between Global View and Local View if they have the 'GM_STACK_VIEW' access hook.

You can use the "Add Nodes" button on the Nodes page (Manage > Nodes) to connect a new SL1 Collector with an SL1 Database Server.

Some of the registration options were removed from the classic SL1 user interface Web Configurator at <IP>:7700. You can now access these options at the new Node Configuration Utility at <IP>:7700/node-config.

A number of updates were made to the commands for the PhoneHome command-line interface for this release. The steps for managing port forwarding and proxy connections were also updated.

Installation and Initial Configuration

Inventory pages contain new column filters that you can use to filter the list of items.

The new format for inventory pages lets you create complex sorts, edit columns, and generate CSV files containing the items on the page.

Clicking the Help button now opens the Help menu on the right-hand side of the user interface. The Help menu also includes a context-sensitive link to the relevant page in the product documentation.

Migration Guide for the New User Interface

The Anomaly Detection column now indicates the build status for the metric that SL1 is evaluating for anomalies. Possible build statuses include Queued, Building, Failed, Enabled, and Disabled.

SL1 now rebuilds the anomaly detection model for a metric every two weeks. This enables it to adapt to new data patterns that have emerged since the last time the model was built.

You can now apply the "Enable Selective PowerPack Field Protection" setting per PowerPack on the PowerPack Properties page (System >Manage > PowerPacks > create button/wrench icon).

SL1 now supports PowerPacks built and monitored on the framework using CLI techniques/toolkits.

PowerPacks

Version 116 of the SL1 Core Reports PowerPack includes new reports: Device Collector Group Summary, Device Outage Events History, and Inactive User.

On the new Run Book Engine Settings page (Registry > Run Book > Run Book Engine Settings), you can update Run Book Automation Engine executor settings to improve the performance of your automations.

You can customize the content that displays in the Favorite Application widgets on the PowerFlow Control Tower page.

The new Workflow Health and Interconnectivity widget on the PowerFlow Control Tower page lets you monitor the connectivity of the third-party applications that you are integrating with SL1.

You can customize the All Tasks, Workers, and Applications charts on the PowerFlow Control Tower page to change the type of chart, status type, data type, and timeframe for each set of charts.

The flowcharts in the PowerFlow builder now include drop-down menus in steps and a "picture-in-picture" (PIP) feature for triggered steps.

The PowerFlow administrator can control the level of access to the specific PowerFlow services, including Couchbase and RabbitMQ.

When installing PowerFlow from an ISO, you can now install open-vm-tools during the installation wizard.

You can now manage your license usage configuration based on the 2020 Model and the GSI Model.

You can also view, add, edit, and delete your collection of license types on the Subscription Usage page.

The Data Retention Settings page contains updated Subscription Data Retention default values.

Subscription Billing

A new Collector Groups page (Manage > Collector Groups) was added to the SL1 user interface. You can view, edit, and create collector groups on this page.

The PHP Developer Logs page (System > Tools > PHP Developer Logs) includes a new "Include IP in log filenames" option that, when selected, adds the IP address from which the user is logged in to the name of each log file.

The PHP Developer Logs page also includes a new checkbox "Request URI" under the section on UI/REST MySQL Query Log Levels. If this checkbox is selected, the mysqli.log file will include the request URI.

The System Logs page (System > Monitor > System Logs) now includes filters for Appliance, Date, Severity, and Message.

The Backup Management page (System > Settings > Backup) now includes fields for Full Backup on Disaster Recovery (DR), Configuration Backup on DR, Full Retention Period, DR Retention Period, and advanced settings for each type of backup (Configuration Backup, Full Backup, and DR Backup).

In the classic user interface, you can select events to add to or remove from the System Warning banner. On the Event Policy Manager page (Registry > Events > Event Manager), the Select Action menu on the Event Policy Manager page includes the following options: Enable Admin Banner Warning and Disable Admin Banner Warning for selected events. The Event Policy Manager page also includes a new Admin Warning column that specifies whether an event will be included in the System Warning Banner.

System Administration

The Product Documentation site at https://docs.sciencelogic.com now includes the following sections and pages:

  • Workflow Automation PowerPacks. This new page lists the PowerPacks that use SL1 PowerFlow to integrate SL1 with third-party applications like ServiceNow, Restorepoint, and Cherwell.
  • The Synchronization PowerPacks were moved from the "Content Development and System Integrations" section to the "Workflow Automation PowerPacks" section.
  • The "PowerPacks" section was renamed Monitoring PowerPacks.

The Product Release Notes site at https://docs.sciencelogic.com/release_notes_html was also updated to reflect the new "Workflow Automation PowerPacks" and "Monitoring PowerPacks" branding.
